1. Deus tenha misericórdia de nós, e nos abençoe, e faça com que a Sua face brilhe sobre nós.
2 Que o teu caminho seja conhecido sobre a terra; tua saúde salvadora entre todas as nações.
3 Louvem-te os povos, ó Deus, louvem-te todos os povos.
4 Ó, alegrem-se as nações e cantem de alegria, pois tu julgarás os povos retamente, e governarás as nações sobre a terra.
6 Então a terra dará o seu crescimento; e Deus, nosso próprio Deus, nos abençoará.
1. Eis aqui meu Servo, a quem eu sustenho. Meu Eleito em quem minha alma se deleita. Eu tenho posto meu Espírito sobre ele. Ele irá produzir justiça para os gentios.
4. Ele não falhará, nem será desencorajado até que ele tenha colocado justiça na terra. E as ilhas aguardarão por sua lei.
1. God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us;
2. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
3. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
4. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.
6. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
1. Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
4. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
SERMÃO DA LIÇÃO
1 Escutai-me, vós que seguis a justiça, vós que buscais o SENHOR. Olhai para a rocha de onde vós fosteis talhados e para o poço da mina de onde vós fosteis extraídos.
3 Porque o SENHOR consolará Sião. Ele consolará todos os seus lugares abandonados. E ele fará o seu deserto semelhante ao Éden, e o deserto dela semelhante ao jardim do SENHOR. Alegria e júbilo serão encontrados nela, ação de graças e a voz da melodia.
4 Escutem-me, meu povo, e me deem ouvidos, ó minha nação, porque uma lei se originará de mim e eu farei meu julgamento permanecer para uma luz dos povos.
5 Minha justiça está próxima, minha salvação é vinda, e meus braços julgarão os povos. As ilhas esperarão em mim e em meu braço elas confiarão.
11 Portanto, os redimidos do SENHOR retornarão e virão com gritos de júbilo para Sião. E eterna alegria estará sobre suas cabeças; eles obterão júbilo e alegria; e tristeza e pranto fugirão.
12 Eu, Eu mesmo, sou Aquele que vos consola:
1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.
3 For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
4 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
11 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
12 I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
35 E Jesus percorria todas as cidades e aldeias, ensinando nas sinagogas, pregando o evangelho do reino e curando todas as enfermidades e doenças entre o povo.
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
10 E eis que ali estava um homem que tinha sua mão seca. E eles perguntaram, para o acusarem: É lícito curar no dia do shabat?
11 E ele lhes disse: Qual homem haverá dentre vós que, tendo uma ovelha, e ela caindo em uma cova no dia do shabat, não lançará mão dela, e a levantará?
12 Pois, quanto mais vale um homem do que uma ovelha? Portanto, é lícito fazer o bem nos dias do shabat.
13 Disse ele então ao homem: Estende a tua mão. E ele a estendeu, e lhe foi restaurada, sã como a outra.
14 E os fariseus, tendo saído, realizaram um concílio contra ele, de como poderiam destruí-lo.
15 Mas Jesus, sabendo disso, retirou-se dali; e grandes multidões o seguiam, e ele curou a todos;
16 E os advertiu para que não deveriam fazê-lo conhecido;
17 para que pudesse se cumprir o que fora dito pelo profeta Isaías, dizendo:
18 Eis aqui o meu servo, a quem Eu escolhi; o meu amado, em quem a minha alma se satisfaz; Eu colocarei sobre ele o meu Espírito, e ele mostrará aos gentios o juízo.
19 Não contenderá, nem clamará; nenhum homem ouvirá a sua voz nas ruas.
20 Não esmagará a cana machucada, e não apagará o pavio que fumega, até que ele envie o juízo para a vitória.
21 E no Seu nome os gentios confiarão.
22 Então, trouxeram-lhe um possuído por um demônio, cego e mudo; e ele o curou, de tal modo que o cego e mudo falava e via.
23 E toda a multidão, espantada, dizia: Não é este o filho de Davi?
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
16 And charged them that they should not make him known:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
23 Tendo Jesus entrado no templo, e estando ele a ensinar, os principais sacerdotes e os anciãos do povo se aproximaram dele, dizendo: Com que autoridade tu fazes estas coisas? E quem te deu tal autoridade?
24 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Eu também vos perguntarei uma coisa; se me responderdes, eu de igual modo vos direi com que autoridade eu faço estas coisas.
25 O batismo de João, de onde era? Do céu, ou dos homens? E eles arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: Se nós dissermos: Do céu, ele nos dirá: Então por que não acreditastes nele?
26 Mas, se nós dissermos: Dos homens, tememos o povo, porque todos consideram João como profeta.
27 E, respondendo a Jesus, disseram: nós não podemos dizer. Ele lhes disse: Nem eu vos digo com que autoridade eu faço estas coisas.
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
1 Levanta-te, brilhe, porque tua luz é chegada e a glória do SENHOR amanhece sobre ti.
2 Porquanto, eis que a escuridão cobrirá a terra, e densa escuridão o povo. O SENHOR, porém, levantar-se-á sobre ti e a glória dele será vista sobre ti.
3 E os gentios virão para a tua luz e reis para o brilho de teu levantar.
18 Violência não será mais ouvida em tua terra, debilidade nem destruição dentro de teus limites. Tu, porém, denominarás teus muros: Salvação, e teus portões, Louvor.
19 O sol não será mais tua luz, de dia, nem por brilho a lua te dará luz; porém o SENHOR será para ti uma luz eterna, e teu Deus, tua glória.
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
8 Porque, noutro tempo, éreis trevas, mas agora vois sois luz no Senhor; andai como filhos da luz,
10. Provando o que é agradável ao Senhor.
13 Mas todas as coisas que são reprovadas, são manifestadas pela luz: Pois tudo o que manifesta é luz.
14 Pelo que ele diz: Desperta, ó tu que dormes, e levanta-te dentre os mortos, e Cristo te dará a luz.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
12 Eu ainda tenho muitas coisas a vos dizer, mas vós não o podeis suportar agora.
13 No entanto, quando ele, o Espírito da verdade vier, ele vos guiará em toda a verdade; porque ele não falará de si mesmo, mas tudo o que ele ouvir, isso ele dirá; e vos anunciará as coisas vindouras.
14 Ele me glorificará; porque receberá do que é meu, e vo-lo mostrará.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Para aqueles que se apoiam na sustentação do Infinito, o dia de hoje é repleto de bênçãos.
To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings.
A Verdade Divina, a Vida e o Amor conferiram a Jesus autoridade sobre o pecado, a doença e a morte. Sua missão era revelar a Ciência do ser celestial, provar o que Deus é e o que Ele faz pelo homem.
Divine Truth, Life, and Love gave Jesus authority over sin, sickness, and death. His mission was to reveal the Science of celestial being, to prove what God is and what He does for man.
Ao sofredor de mão atrofiada, ele disse: "Estende a tua mão", e ela "foi restaurada" inteira, igual à outra."
To the sufferer with the withered hand he said, "Stretch forth thine hand," and it "was restored whole, like as the other."
Devemos lembrar que a Vida é Deus e que Deus é onipotente.
Não entendendo a Ciência Cristã os enfermos geralmente têm pouca fé nela até sentirem sua influência benéfica.
Isto mostra que a fé não é a cura em tais casos. Os doentes argumentam inconscientemente a favor do sofrimento, em vez de contra ele.
Eles admitem a sua realidade, quando deveriam negá-la. Deveriam argumentar em oposição ao testemunho dos sentidos enganosos e sustentar a imortalidade do homem e a sua eterna semelhança com Deus.
Assim como o grande Exemplo, o curador deve falar com a doença como alguém que tem autoridade sobre ela, deixando que a Alma domine as falsas evidências dos sentidos corpóreos e afirme seus direitos sobre a mortalidade e a doença.
O mesmo Princípio cura tanto o pecado quanto a doença. Quando a Ciência divina superar a fé numa mente carnal, e a fé em Deus destruir toda a fé no pecado e nos métodos materiais de cura, então o pecado, a doença e a morte desaparecerão.
We should remember that Life is God, and that God is omnipotent. Not understanding Christian Science, the sick usually have little faith in it till they feel its beneficent influence. This shows that faith is not the healer in such cases. The sick unconsciously argue for suffering, instead of against it. They admit its reality, whereas they should deny it. They should plead in opposition to the testimony of the deceitful senses, and maintain man's immortality and eternal likeness to God.
Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to master the false evidences of the corporeal senses and to assert its claims over mortality and disease. The same Principle cures both sin and sickness. When divine Science overcomes faith in a carnal mind, and faith in God destroys all faith in sin and in material methods of healing, then sin, disease, and death will disappear.
Será que se pode negar que um sistema que funciona de acordo com as Escrituras possui autoridade bíblica?
A Ciência Cristã desperta o pecador, resgata o infiel e levanta do leito de dor o inválido indefeso. Ela fala aos mudos as palavras da Verdade, e eles respondem com júbilo.
Faz com que os surdos ouçam, os coxos andem e os cegos vejam.
Shall it be denied that a system which works according to the Scriptures has Scriptural authority?
Christian Science awakens the sinner, reclaims the infidel, and raises from the couch of pain the helpless invalid. It speaks to the dumb the words of Truth, and they answer with rejoicing. It causes the deaf to hear, the lame to walk, and the blind to see.
Pense menos nas ações da mente mortal e você compreenderá mais rapidamente o domínio divino concedido ao homem. Você precisa encontrar uma forma de transcender as teorias humanas relacionadas à saúde, ou jamais acreditará estar completamente livre de alguma enfermidade.
A harmonia e a imortalidade do homem jamais serão alcançadas sem a compreensão de que a Mente não reside na matéria. Vamos banir a doença como uma fora da lei e obedecer à regra da harmonia perpétua — a lei de Deus. É direito moral do homem anular uma sentença injusta, uma sentença jamais proferida por autoridade divina.
Think less of the enactments of mortal mind, and you will sooner grasp man's God-given dominion. You must understand your way out of human theories relating to health, or you will never believe that you are quite free from some ailment. The harmony and immortality of man will never be reached without the understanding that Mind is not in matter. Let us banish sickness as an outlaw, and abide by the rule of perpetual harmony, — God's law. It is man's moral right to annul an unjust sentence, a sentence never inflicted by divine authority.
O mais elevado representante terreno de Deus, falando da capacidade humana de refletir o poder divino, disse profeticamente aos seus discípulos, não se referindo apenas àqueles dias, mas a todos os tempos: "Aquele que crê em mim fará também as obras que Eu faço"; e "Estes sinais acompanharão os que creem".
The highest earthly representative of God, speaking of human ability to reflect divine power, prophetically said to his disciples, speaking not for their day only but for all time: "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;" and "These signs shall follow them that believe."
A promessa de Jesus é perpétua. Se tivesse sido dada apenas aos seus discípulos mais próximos, a passagem bíblica diria "vocês", e não "eles". O propósito da sua grande obra transcende o tempo e abrange toda a humanidade.
Seu princípio é infinito, transcendendo os limites de um único período ou de um grupo limitado de seguidores. Com o passar do tempo, os elementos curativos do cristianismo puro serão tratados com justiça; serão buscados e ensinados, e resplandecerão em toda a grandeza da bondade universal.
Um pouco de fermento leveda toda a massa. Um pouco de compreensão da Ciência Cristã comprova a veracidade de tudo o que digo sobre ela. Porque você não pode andar sobre a água nem ressuscitar os mortos, não tem o direito de questionar o grande poder da Ciência divina nessas áreas.
Seja grato a Jesus, que foi o verdadeiro demonstrador da Ciência, por ter feito essas coisas e nos ter deixado seu exemplo. Na Ciência, só podemos usar o que entendemos. Devemos provar nossa fé por meio da demonstração.
Jesus' promise is perpetual. Had it been given only to his immediate disciples, the Scriptural passage would read you, not they. The purpose of his great life-work extends through time and includes universal humanity. Its Principle is infinite, reaching beyond the pale of a single period or of a limited following. As time moves on, the healing elements of pure Christianity will be fairly dealt with; they will be sought and taught, and will glow in all the grandeur of universal goodness.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump. A little understanding of Christian Science proves the truth of all that I say of it. Because you cannot walk on the water and raise the dead, you have no right to question the great might of divine Science in these directions. Be thankful that Jesus, who was the true demonstrator of Science, did these things, and left his example for us. In Science we can use only what we understand. We must prove our faith by demonstration.
Jesus previu a recepção que a Ciência Cristã teria antes mesmo de ser compreendida, mas esse conhecimento prévio não o impediu. Ele cumpriu sua missão divina e, em seguida, sentou-se à direita do Pai.
Jesus foresaw the reception Christian Science would have before it was understood, but this foreknowledge hindered him not. He fulfilled his God-mission, and then sat down at the right hand of the Father.
Nosso Mestre curava os enfermos, praticava a cura cristã e ensinava os divinos princípios gerais aos seus discípulos; porém, não deixou nenhuma regra definitiva para demonstrar esse princípio de cura e prevenção de doenças. Essa regra ainda precisava ser descoberta na Ciência Cristã.
Our Master healed the sick, practised Christian healing, and taught the generalities of its divine Principle to his students; but he left no definite rule for demonstrating this Principle of healing and preventing disease. This rule remained to be discovered in Christian Science.
O termo CIÊNCIA CRISTÃ foi introduzido pelo autor para designar o sistema científico de cura divina.
A revelação consiste em duas partes:
1. A descoberta desta divina Ciência da Mente - cura, através de um sentido espiritual das Escrituras e através dos ensinamentos do Consolador, conforme prometido pelo Mestre.
2. A prova, pela presente demonstração, de que os chamados
milagres de Jesus não pertenciam especialmente a uma
dispensação agora encerrada, mas que ilustram um
Princípio divino sempre operante.
The term Christian Science was introduced by the author to designate the scientific system of divine healing.
The revelation consists of two parts:
1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind-healing, through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and through the teachings of the Comforter, as promised by the Master.
2. The proof, by present demonstration, that the so-called miracles of Jesus did not specially belong to a dispensation now ended, but that they illustrated an ever-operative divine Principle.
Pode-se dizer, no entanto, que o termo Ciência Cristã se relaciona especialmente à Ciência aplicada à humanidade. A Ciência Cristã revela Deus não como o autor do pecado, da doença e da morte, mas como Princípio divino, Ser Supremo, Mente, isento de todo o mal.
Ela ensina que a matéria é a falsidade, não o fato, da existência; que nervos, cérebro, estômago, pulmões e assim por diante — como matéria — não possuirem inteligência, vida nem sensação.
Não existe ciência física, visto que toda a verdade procede da Mente divina. Portanto, a verdade não é humana, nem é uma lei da matéria, pois a matéria não é legisladora. A ciência é uma emanação da Mente divina e somente Ela é capaz de interpretar Deus corretamente. Ela tem uma origem espiritual, e não material. É uma expressão divina — o Consolador que conduz a toda a verdade.
It may be said, however, that the term Christian Science relates especially to Science as applied to humanity. Christian Science reveals God, not as the author of sin, sickness, and death, but as divine Principle, Supreme Being, Mind, exempt from all evil. It teaches that matter is the falsity, not the fact, of existence; that nerves, brain, stomach, lungs, and so forth, have — as matter — no intelligence, life, nor sensation.
There is no physical science, inasmuch as all truth proceeds from the divine Mind. Therefore truth is not human, and is not a law of matter, for matter is not a lawgiver. Science is an emanation of divine Mind, and is alone able to interpret God aright. It has a spiritual, and not a material origin. It is a divine utterance, — the Comforter which leadeth into all truth.
Quando a humanidade compreender esta Ciência, ela se tornará a lei da Vida para o homem,—até mesmo a lei superior da Alma, que prevalece sobre os sentidos materiais através da harmonia e da imortalidade.
When humanity does understand this Science, it will become the law of Life to man, — even the higher law of Soul, which prevails over material sense through harmony and immortality.
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja orar todos os dias: "Venha o Teu reino"; que o reinado da Verdade, da Vida e do Amor divinos se estabeleça em mim e expulse de mim todo pecado; e que a Tua Palavra enriqueça os afetos de toda a humanidade e os governe! — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 4
Nem a animosidade nem o mero apego pessoal devem impelir os motivos ou atos dos membros da Igreja Mãe. Na Ciência, somente o Amor divino governa o homem; e um Cientista Cristão reflete as doces comodidades do Amor, repreendendo o pecado, na verdadeira fraternidade, caridade e perdão. Os membros desta Igreja devem vigiar e orar diariamente para serem libertos de todo mal, de profetizar, julgar, condenar, aconselhar, influenciar ou serem influenciados erroneamente. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 1
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja defender-se diariamente contra a sugestão mental agressiva, e não ser levado a esquecer ou negligenciar seu dever para com Deus, seu líder e a humanidade. Por suas obras, ele será julgado — e justificado ou condenado. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 6.
