1 Então, se ressuscitastes com Cristo, buscai as coisas que são de cima, onde Cristo está assentado à direita de Deus.
2 Afeiçoai-vos às coisas que são de cima e não às coisas que são da terra;
4. Quando Cristo, que é a nossa vida, se manifestar, então, também vós vos manifestareis com ele em glória.
9. Não mintais uns aos outros, pois que já vos despistes do velho homem com os seus feitos;
10. E vos vestistes do novo homem, que se renova em conhecimento segundo a imagem d'Aquele que o criou:
14. E, sobre tudo isto, revesti-vos de amor, que é o vínculo da perfeição.
15. E deixe que a paz de Deus governe em vossos corações, para a qual também fostes chamados em um corpo; e sede vós agradecidos.
16. Deixe que a palavra de Cristo habite em vós ricamente, em toda a sabedoria, ensinando e aconselhando uns aos outros, com salmos, hinos e com cânticos espirituais; cantando ao Senhor dando graças em vosso coração.
1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
4. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
9. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10. And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

SERMÃO DA LIÇÃO
1 No princípio, era o Verbo, e o Verbo estava com Deus, e o Verbo era Deus.
2 Ele estava no princípio com Deus.
3 Todas as coisas foram feitas por ele, e sem ele nada do que foi feito se fez.
4 Nele, estava a Vida e a Vida era a Luz dos homens;
5 E a Luz resplandece nas trevas, e as trevas não A compreenderam.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
3 Inclinai vossos ouvidos e vinde a mim. Ouça, e vossa alma viverá,
8 Porque os Meus pensamentos não são os vossos pensamentos, nem são os vossos caminhos os Meus caminhos, diz o SENHOR.
9 Porque, como os céus são mais altos do que a terra, deste modo são os Meus caminhos mais altos do que os vossos caminhos e os Meus pensamentos mais altos do que os vossos pensamentos.
10 Porque, como a chuva cai e a neve desce do céu, e não retornam naquela direção, porém molha a terra e a faz produzir e brotar, para que possa dar semente para o semeador e pão para o que come,
11 Assim será minha palavra, que sai da minha boca. Ela não retornará para mim vazia, porém, ela fará acontecer aquilo que eu desejo, e ela prosperará na coisa para a qual eu a enviei.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
1 Meu filho, não te esqueças da minha lei, mas guarde no teu coração os Meus mandamentos.
2 Porque eles estenderão os teus dias, e eles acrescentarão vida longa e paz a ti.
3 Que a misericórdia e a Verdade não te abandonem; ata-as ao teu pescoço, escreve-as na tábua do teu coração;
4 E acharás graça e bom entendimento aos olhos de Deus e dos homens.
6 Em todos os teus caminhos, reconhece-O, e Ele direcionará as tuas veredas.
7 Não sejas sábio aos teus próprios olhos; teme ao SENHOR, e afasta-te do mal.
8 Isto será saúde para o teu umbigo, e medula para os teus ossos.
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

29 Partindo Jesus dali, aproximou-se do mar da Galileia, e, subindo a um monte, sentou-se ali.
30 E grandes multidões vieram a ele, trazendo aqueles que eram coxos, cegos, mudos, aleijados, e muitos outros, e os puseram aos pés de Jesus, e ele os curou.
31 De modo que a multidão se maravilhou ao ver os mudos falando, os aleijados curados, os coxos andando, e os cegos vendo; e glorificaram ao Deus de Israel.
32 Então Jesus, chamando os seus discípulos, disse:
29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:
31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said,
30 Eu não posso de mim mesmo fazer coisa alguma; como eu ouço, eu julgo; e o Meu juízo é justo, porque Eu não busco a minha própria vontade, mas a vontade do Pai que me enviou.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
63 O espírito é o que vivifica, da carne nada se aproveita; as palavras que eu vos falo, elas são Espírito, e elas são Vida.
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
1 Pedro e João subiam juntos ao templo à hora da oração, sendo a hora nona.
2 Estava sendo carregado um homem coxo desde o ventre de sua mãe, o qual diariamente punham à porta do templo chamada Formoso, para pedir esmola aos que entravam no templo;
3 O qual, vendo Pedro e João entrando no templo, pediu uma esmola.
4 E Pedro, fixando os olhos nele com João, disse: Olha para nós.
5 E ele estava atento, esperando receber alguma coisa deles.
6 Então, Pedro disse: Eu não tenho prata nem ouro, mas o que eu tenho isto te dou: Em nome de Jesus Cristo de Nazaré, levanta-te e anda.
7 E ele, tomando-o pela mão direita, o levantou, e imediatamente os seus pés e ossos do tornozelo receberam força.
8 E, saltando, ele se pôs em pé, e andou, e entrou com eles no templo, andando e saltando, e louvando a Deus.
9 E todo o povo o viu andando e louvando a Deus;
11 E, apegando-se o homem coxo a Pedro e João, todo o povo correu atônito para junto deles no alpendre chamado de Salomão.
12 E, quando Pedro viu isto, ele respondeu ao povo: Homens de Israel, por que vos maravilhais disto? Ou, por que olhais seriamente para nós, como se por nosso próprio poder ou santidade fizéssemos este homem andar?
13 O Deus de Abraão, e de Isaque, e de Jacó, o Deus de nossos pais, glorificou a seu Filho Jesus;
16 E pela fé em seu nome, fortaleceu o seu nome a este homem, a quem vedes e conheceis; sim, a fé nele, deu a este perfeita saúde, na presença de todos vós.
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus;
16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
6 Porque Deus, que ordenou que a luz brilhasse das trevas, brilhou em nossos corações, para dar a luz do conhecimento da glória de Deus na face de Jesus Cristo.
14 Sabendo que o que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus também nos ressuscitará por Jesus, e nos apresentará convosco.
15 Porque todas as coisas são por causa de vós, para que a abundante graça possa por meio da ação de graças de muitos, aumentar para a glória de Deus.
17 Porque a nossa leve aflição, que é apenas por um momento, opera para nós um extraordinário e eterno peso de glória;
18 Não olhamos para as coisas que se veem, mas para as coisas que não se veem; porque as coisas que se veem são temporais, mas as coisas que não se veem são eternas.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Deus cria todas as formas de realidade. Seus pensamentos são realidades espirituais.
God creates all forms of reality. His thoughts are spiritual realities.
As Escrituras dão a entender que Deus é Tudo em tudo. Disso decorre que nada possui realidade nem existência, exceto a Mente divina e as Suas ideias. As Escrituras também declaram que Deus é Espírito.
Portanto, no Espírito, tudo é harmonia, e não pode haver desarmonia; tudo é Vida, e não há morte.
The Scriptures imply that God is All-in-all. From this it follows that nothing possesses reality nor existence except the divine Mind and His ideas. The Scriptures also declare that God is Spirit. Therefore in Spirit all is harmony, and there can be no discord; all is Life, and there is no death.
Os pensamentos de Deus são perfeitos e eternos; são substância e Vida. Os pensamentos materiais e temporais são humanos, envolvem erro e, visto que Deus, o Espírito, é a
única causa, carecem de uma causa divina. O temporal e o material não são, portanto, criações do Espírito, são apenas imitações falsas do que é espiritual e eterno.
God's thoughts are perfect and eternal, are substance and Life. Material and temporal thoughts are human, involving error, and since God, Spirit, is the only cause, they lack a divine cause. The temporal and material are not then creations of Spirit. They are but counterfeits of the spiritual and eternal.
O homem e seu Criador estão correlacionados na Ciência divina, e a consciência real
só tem consciência das coisas de Deus.
A compreensão de que toda desarmonia é irreal traz objetos e pensamentos à visão humana sob sua verdadeira luz, e os apresenta como belos e imortais. A harmonia no homem é tão real e imortal quanto na música. A discórdia é irreal e mortal.
Se se admitir que Deus é a única Mente e Vida, deixa de haver qualquer oportunidade para o pecado e a morte. Quando aprendemos na Ciência como sermos perfeitos assim como nosso Pai que está nos céus é perfeito, o pensamento é canalizado para vias novas e saudáveis — voltando-se para a contemplação das coisas imortais e afastando-se
da materialidade em direção ao Princípio do universo, incluindo o homem harmonioso.
Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.
The realization that all inharmony is unreal brings objects and thoughts into human view in their true light, and presents them as beautiful and immortal. Harmony in man is as real and immortal as in music. Discord is unreal and mortal.
If God is admitted to be the only Mind and Life, there ceases to be any opportunity for sin and death. When we learn in Science how to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect, thought is turned into new and healthy channels, — towards the contemplation of things immortal and away from materiality to the Principle of the universe, including harmonious man.
Visto que Deus é Substância e o homem é a imagem e semelhança divina, o homem deve desejar — e, na realidade, possui — apenas a substância do bem, a substância do Espírito, não a matéria. A crença de que o homem tem qualquer outra substância, ou mente, não é espiritual e viola o Primeiro Mandamento: Terás um só Deus, uma só Mente.
As God is substance and man is the divine image and likeness, man should wish for, and in reality has, only the substance of good, the substance of Spirit, not matter. The belief that man has any other substance, or mind, is not spiritual and breaks the First Commandment, Thou shalt have one God, one Mind.
Tudo o que é real é eterno. A perfeição está na base da realidade. Sem a perfeição, nada é totalmente real. Todas as coisas continuarão a desaparecer, até que a perfeição surja e a realidade seja alcançada.
All the real is eternal. Perfection underlies reality. Without perfection, nothing is wholly real. All things will continue to disappear, until perfection appears and reality is reached.
As teorias humanas são incapazes de tornar o homem harmonioso ou imortal, visto que ele já o é, segundo a Ciência Cristã. Nossa única necessidade é compreender isso e pôr em prática o Princípio divino do homem real: o Amor.
Human theories are helpless to make man harmonious or immortal, since he is so already, according to Christian Science. Our only need is to know this and reduce to practice the real man's divine Principle, Love.
Como distinguir ideias verdadeiras de ilusões? Aprendendo a origem de cada uma. Ideias são emanações da Mente divina. Pensamentos, que procedem do cérebro ou da matéria, são ramificações da mente mortal; são crenças materiais mortais.
Ideias são espirituais, harmoniosas e eternas. Crenças procedem dos chamados sentidos materiais,
How are veritable ideas to be distinguished from illusions? By learning the origin of each. Ideas are emanations from the divine Mind. Thoughts, proceeding from the brain or from matter, are offshoots of mortal mind; they are mortal material beliefs. Ideas are spiritual, harmonious, and eternal. Beliefs proceed from the so-called material senses,
A chamada existência material não oferece provas para as teorias de existência espiritual e imortalidade.
Jesus raciocinou de modo prático sobre esse assunto e dominou a doença, o pecado e a morte com base em sua espiritualidade. Compreendendo a natureza ilusória das coisas materiais, ele falou da carne e do Espírito como dois opostos — como o erro e a Verdade—, que em nada contribuem para a felicidade e a existência um do outro.
Jesus sabia: "O espírito é o que vivifica; a carne nada se aproveita".
So-called material existence affords no evidence of spiritual existence and immortality.
Jesus reasoned on this subject practically, and controlled sickness, sin, and death on the basis of his spirituality. Understanding the nothingness of material things, he spoke of flesh and Spirit as the two opposites, — as error and Truth, not contributing in any way to each other's happiness and existence. Jesus knew, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing."
É preciso adquirir o sentido espiritual da verdade antes que a Verdade possa ser compreendida. Esse sentido só é assimiladoà medida que somos honestos, altruístas, amorosos e mansos.
A semente deve ser lançada no solo de um "coração bom e honesto"; caso contrário, não produz muito fruto, pois o elemento animalesco da natureza humana a arranca.
The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood. This sense is assimilated only as we are honest, unselfish, loving, and meek. In the soil of an "honest and good heart" the seed must be sown; else it beareth not much fruit, for the swinish element in human nature uproots it.
A Ciência Cristã, devidamente compreendida, libertaria a mente humana de crenças materiais que guerreiam contra fatos espirituais; e essas crenças materiais devem ser negadas e rejeitadas para dar lugar à verdade.
Se o pensamento fica surpreso com a forte reivindicação da Ciência quanto à supremacia de Deus, ou da Verdade, e duvida da supremacia do bem, não deveríamos, então, ficarmos surpresos com as vigorosas reivindicações do mal e duvidar deles, e não mais pensar que seja natural amar o pecado e antinatural abandoná-lo,— e não mais imaginar o mal sempre presente e o bem ausente?
A Verdade não deveria parecer tão surpreendente e antinatural quanto o erro, e o erro não deveria parecer tão real quanto a Verdade. A doença não deveria parecer tão real quanto a saúde. Não há erro na Ciência, e nossas vidas devem ser governadas pela realidade para estarem em harmonia com Deus, o Princípio divino de todo o ser.
Christian Science, properly understood, would disabuse the human mind of material beliefs which war against spiritual facts; and these material beliefs must be denied and cast out to make place for truth.
If thought is startled at the strong claim of Science for the supremacy of God, or Truth, and doubts the supremacy of good, ought we not, contrariwise, to be astounded at the vigorous claims of evil and doubt them, and no longer think it natural to love sin and unnatural to forsake it, — no longer imagine evil to be ever-present and good absent? Truth should not seem so surprising and unnatural as error, and error should not seem so real as truth. Sickness should not seem so real as health. There is no error in Science, and our lives must be governed by reality in order to be in harmony with God, the divine Principle of all being.
Tudo o que é governado por Deus jamais é privado, nem por um instante, da luz e do poder da inteligência e da Vida.
Às vezes, somos levados a acreditar que as trevas são tão reais quanto a luz; mas a Ciência afirma que as trevas são apenas um sentido mortal da ausência de luz — e, com a chegada desta, as trevas perdem a aparência de realidade. Assim, o pecado e a tristeza, a doença e a morte, constituem a suposta ausência da Vida, Deus, e dissipam-se como fantasmas do erro diante da Verdade e do Amor.
Whatever is governed by God, is never for an instant deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life.
We are sometimes led to believe that darkness is as real as light; but Science affirms darkness to be only a mortal sense of the absence of light, at the coming of which darkness loses the appearance of reality. So sin and sorrow, disease and death, are the suppositional absence of Life, God, and flee as phantoms of error before truth and love.
A Bíblia declara: "Todas as coisas foram feitas por Ele [o Verbo divino]; e sem Ele nada do que foi feito se fez." Esta é a eterna verdade da Ciência Divina. Se o pecado, a doença e a morte fossem compreendidos como inexistência, eles desapareceriam. Assim como o vapor se dissipa diante do sol, o mal desapareceria diante da realidade do bem. Um deve ocultar o outro. Quão importante é, então, escolher o bem como a realidade!
The Bible declares: "All things were made by Him [the divine Word]; and without Him was not anything made that was made." This is the eternal verity of divine Science. If sin, sickness, and death were understood as nothingness, they would disappear. As vapor melts before the sun, so evil would vanish before the reality of good. One must hide the other. How important, then, to choose good as the reality!
Mantenha o pensamento firmemente para o duradouro, o bom e o verdadeiro, e você trará essas coisas para a sua experiência na proporção em que elas ocuparem os seus pensamentos.
Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts.
Devemos formar modelos perfeitos no pensamento e contemplá-los continuamente; caso contrário, jamais os esculpiremos em vidas grandiosas e nobres.
We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives.
Aceitemos a Ciência, abandonemos todas as teorias baseadas no testemunho dos sentidos, deixemos de lado modelos imperfeitos e ideais ilusórios; e assim tenhamos um só Deus, uma só Mente — e essa única Mente perfeita, produzindo os Seus próprios modelos de excelência.
Let us accept Science, relinquish all theories based on sense-testimony, give up imperfect models and illusive ideals; and so let us have one God, one Mind, and that one perfect, producing His own models of excellence.
Há apenas um caminho para o céu, para a harmonia, e a Ciência Divina nos mostra esse caminho. Consiste em não conhecer outra realidade — em não ter outra consciência da vida — senão o bem, Deus e o Seu reflexo, e em elevar-se acima da chamada dor e do prazer dos sentidos.
There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses.
Aprendamos sobre o real e o eterno, e preparemo-nos para o reino do Espírito — o reino dos céus —, o domínio e a regência da harmonia universal, que não pode ser perdida nem permanecer para sempre invisível.
Let us learn of the real and eternal, and prepare for the reign of Spirit, the kingdom of heaven, — the reign and rule of universal harmony, which cannot be lost nor remain forever unseen.
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja orar todos os dias: "Venha o Teu reino"; que o reinado da Verdade, da Vida e do Amor divinos se estabeleça em mim e expulse de mim todo pecado; e que a Tua Palavra enriqueça os afetos de toda a humanidade e os governe! — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 4
Nem a animosidade nem o mero apego pessoal devem impelir os motivos ou atos dos membros da Igreja Mãe. Na Ciência, somente o Amor divino governa o homem; e um Cientista Cristão reflete as doces comodidades do Amor, repreendendo o pecado, na verdadeira fraternidade, caridade e perdão. Os membros desta Igreja devem vigiar e orar diariamente para serem libertos de todo mal, de profetizar, julgar, condenar, aconselhar, influenciar ou serem influenciados erroneamente. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 1
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja defender-se diariamente contra a sugestão mental agressiva, e não ser levado a esquecer ou negligenciar seu dever para com Deus, seu líder e a humanidade. Por suas obras, ele será julgado — e justificado ou condenado. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 6.
