2. Não vos conformeis com este mundo, mas transformai-vos pela renovação da vossa mente, para que experimenteis qual seja a boa, agradável e perfeita vontade de Deus.
9. Que o amor seja sem dissimulação. Aborreça o que é mal; apoie-se no Bem.
10. Sejam afetuosos uns para com os outros com amor fraternal; prefiram-se, honrando uns aos outros;
11. Não sejam preguiçosos nesse zelo; sejam fervorosos no espírito; servindo ao Senhor;
12. Alegrai-vos na esperança, sede pacientes na tribulação, perseverai na oração;
14. Abençoem aqueles que os perseguem; abençoem e não amaldiçoem.
21. Não se deixem vencer pelo mal, mas vençam o mal com o bem.
2. Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
9. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

16 Quem guarda o mandamento guarda a sua própria alma;

8 Noé encontrou Graça aos olhos do SENHOR.
13 E disse Deus a Noé: O fim de toda a carne é chegado, porque a terra está cheia de violência por causa deles; eis que os destruirei juntamente com a terra.
14 Faze para ti uma arca de madeira de cipreste;
22 Assim fez Noé; conforme tudo o que Deus lhe ordenou, assim ele fez.
8 Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood;
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
10 E aconteceu que, depois de sete dias, as águas do dilúvio vieram sobre a terra.
13 Naquele mesmo dia entraram na arca Noé, e Sem, Cam e Jafé, filhos de Noé, e a mulher de Noé, e as três mulheres de seus filhos, com eles;

9 E eis que estabeleço a minha aliança contigo e com a descendência de vocês;
13 Porei o meu arco nas nuvens, e ele será por sinal de uma aliança entre mim e a terra.
16 O arco estará nas nuvens, e eu o verei, para me lembrar da aliança eterna entre Deus e todos os seres viventes de toda a carne que está sobre a terra.
1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
1 Do Senhor é a terra e a sua plenitude, o mundo e os que nele habitam.
2 Pois ele a fundou sobre os mares e a firmou sobre as águas.
3 Quem subirá ao monte do Senhor? Ou quem poderá permanecer no seu lugar santo?
4 Aquele que tem as mãos limpas e o coração puro, que não entrega a sua alma à vaidade, nem jura falsamente.
5 Ele receberá a bênção do Senhor e a justiça do Deus da sua salvação.
6 Esta é a geração daqueles que O buscam, daqueles que buscam a sua face, Ó Jacó.
9 Levantai as vossas cabeças, Ó portas; levantai-vos também, Ó entradas eternas, para que entre o Rei da glória.
10 Quem é este Rei da glória? O SENHOR dos Exércitos, ele é o Rei da glória.
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.

1 E, ao cumprir-se o dia de Pentecostes, estavam todos reunidos em um propósito e em um mesmo lugar.
2 De repente, veio do céu um som, como a de um vento poderoso e forte, que preencheu toda a casa onde eles estavam sentados.
3 E apareceram-lhes línguas repartidas, como que de fogo, as quais pousaram entre cada um deles.
4 E todos foram preenchidos pelo Espírito Santo e começaram a falar em outras línguas, conforme o Espírito lhes concedia.
5 Ora, estavam habitando em Jerusalém judeus, homens piedosos, vindos de todas as nações debaixo do céu.
6 Quando se espalhou o alvoroço, ajuntou-se a multidão e ficou perplexa, porque cada um os ouvia falar na sua própria língua.
7 E todos ficaram admirados e maravilhados, dizendo uns aos outros: Vede, não são galileus todos estes que falam?
8 E como ouvimos, cada um de nós, em nossa própria língua de nascença?

13 Outros, zombando, disseram: "Estes homens estão embriagados com vinho novo".

16 Mas isto é o que foi dito pelo profeta Joel;
17 E acontecerá nos últimos dias, diz Deus, que derramarei do meu Espírito sobre toda a carne:
18 E sobre os meus servos e sobre as minhas servas, Eu derramarei do Meu Espírito nesses dias;
19 E Eu mostrarei maravilhas em cima, no céu, e sinais embaixo, na terra;
21 E acontecerá que todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo.
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them,
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose,
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit;
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath;
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
9 Pois Deus não nos destinou para a ira, mas para alcançarmos a salvação por meio de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
11 Pelo que, consolai-vos uns aos outros e edificai-vos uns aos outros, como também o fazeis.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
23 Tudo o que fizerem, façam de coração, como ao Senhor e não como aos homens;
24 sabendo que do Senhor recebereis a recompensa da herança, porque servis a Cristo, o Senhor.

24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Na Ciência Cristã, o termo "Alma" é propriamente sinônimo de "Espírito" ou "Deus".
As used in Christian Science, Soul is properly the synonym of Spirit, or God;
A Mente divina mantém todas as identidades, desde uma folha de grama até uma estrela, como distintas e eternas. As perguntas são: Quais são as identidades de Deus? O que é Alma? Existe vida ou alma na coisa formada?
The divine Mind maintains all identities, from a blade of grass to a star, as distinct and eternal. The questions are: What are God's identities? What is Soul? Does life or soul exist in the thing formed?
Alma é sinônimo de Espírito, Deus, o Princípio criador, governante e infinito que transcende a forma finita, da qual as formas apenas fazem parte.
Soul is synonymous with Spirit, God, the creative, governing, infinite Principle outside of finite form, which forms only reflect.
A Alma é a Substância, a Vida e a Inteligência do homem, que é individualizada, mas não material. A Alma jamais poderá refletir algo inferior ao Espírito.
O homem é a expressão da Alma.
Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul.
A vida é a lei da Alma, a própria lei do espírito da Verdade, e a Alma nunca está sem seu representante. O ser individual do homem não pode morrer nem desaparecer na inconsciência, assim como a Alma, pois ambos são imortais.
Life is the law of Soul, even the law of the spirit of Truth, and Soul is never without its representative. Man's individual being can no more die nor disappear in unconsciousness than can Soul, for both are immortal.
A alma é o princípio divino do homem e jamais peca — daí a imortalidade da alma. Na ciência, aprendemos que é o sentido material, e não a alma, que peca; e descobrir-se-á que é o senso do pecado é que está perdido, e não que a Alma seja pecadora.
Soul is the divine Principle of man and never sins, — hence the immortality of Soul. In Science we learn that it is material sense, not Soul, which sins; and it will be found that it is the sense of sin which is lost, and not a sinful soul.
Quando a compreensão mudar os pontos de vista da vida e da inteligência, de uma base material para uma espiritual, alcançaremos a realidade da Vida, o controle da Alma sobre os sentidos e perceberemos o Cristianismo, ou a Verdade, em seu Princípio divino. Este deve ser o ápice antes que o homem harmonioso e imortal seja alcançado e suas capacidades reveladas. É altamente importante - em vista do imenso trabalho a ser realizado antes que este reconhecimento da Ciência divina possa chegar - voltar nossos pensamentos para o Princípio divino, crença finita possa estar preparada para renunciar ao seu erro.
A sabedoria humana não encontra satisfação no pecado, pois Deus condenou o pecado ao sofrimento.
As agudas experiências de crença na suposta vida da matéria, bem como nossas decepções e
infortúnios incessantes, levam-nos como crianças cansadas aos braços do Amor divino. Então começamos a aprender a Vida na Ciência divina.
Sem esse processo de desmame, "Poderás, por meio da busca, encontrar a Deus?" É mais fácil desejar a Verdade do que livrar-se do erro. Os mortais podem buscar a compreensão da Ciência Cristã, mas não serão capazes de extrair dela os fatos do ser sem se esforçarem para alcançá-los. Esse esforço consiste na tentativa de abandonar o erro de toda espécie e de não possuir outra consciência além do Bem.
Por meio das disciplinas salutares do Amor, somos auxiliados na marcha rumo ao que é certo, à paz e à pureza, que são os marcos da Ciência. Contemplando as infinitas tarefas da verdade, façamos uma pausa —e esperemos em Deus. Então, seguimos em frente, até que o pensamento ilimitado caminhe extasiado e a concepção irrestrita alce voo para alcançar a glória divina.
Para aprendermos mais, precisamos colocar em prática o que já sabemos. Devemos lembrar que a Verdade é demonstrável quando compreendida, e que o bem só é compreendido quando verificado.
Se formos "fiéis no pouco", governaremos sobre muito; mas o talento não utilizado se deteriora e se perde. Quando os doentes ou pecadores despertarem para a necessidade daquilo que lhes falta, estarão receptivos à Ciência divina, que gravita em direção à Alma e se afasta dos sentidos materiais, remove o pensamento do corpo e eleva até mesmo a mente mortal à contemplação de algo melhor do que a doença ou o pecado.
A verdadeira ideia de Deus proporciona a verdadeira compreensão da Vida e do Amor, rouba a vitória da sepultura, elimina todo o pecado e a ilusão de que existem outras mentes, e destrói a mortalidade.
Os efeitos da Ciência Cristã não são tanto vistos, mas sentidos. É a "voz mansa e delicada" da Verdade se manifestando. Ou nos afastamos dessa voz, ou a ouvimos e nos elevamos a um nível mais alto.
When understanding changes the standpoints of life and intelligence from a material to a spiritual basis, we shall gain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or Truth, in its divine Principle. This must be the climax before harmonious and immortal man is obtained and his capabilities revealed. It is highly important — in view of the immense work to be accomplished before this recognition of divine Science can come — to turn our thoughts towards divine Principle, that finite belief may be prepared to relinquish its error.
Man's wisdom finds no satisfaction in sin, since God has sentenced sin to suffer.
The sharp experiences of belief in the supposititious life of matter, as well as our disappointments and ceaseless woes, turn us like tired children to the arms of divine Love. Then we begin to learn Life in divine Science. Without this process of weaning, "Canst thou by searching find out God?" It is easier to desire Truth than to rid one's self of error. Mortals may seek the understanding of Christian Science, but they will not be able to glean from Christian Science the facts of being without striving for them. This strife consists in the endeavor to forsake error of every kind and to possess no other consciousness but good.
Through the wholesome chastisements of Love, we are helped onward in the march towards righteousness, peace, and purity, which are the landmarks of Science. Beholding the infinite tasks of truth, we pause, — wait on God. Then we push onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured, and conception unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.
In order to apprehend more, we must put into practice what we already know. We must recollect that Truth is demonstrable when understood, and that good is not understood until demonstrated. If "faithful over a few things," we shall be made rulers over many; but the one unused talent decays and is lost. When the sick or the sinning awake to realize their need of what they have not, they will be receptive of divine Science, which gravitates towards Soul and away from material sense, removes thought from the body, and elevates even mortal mind to the contemplation of something better than disease or sin. The true idea of God gives the true understanding of Life and Love, robs the grave of victory, takes away all sin and the delusion that there are other minds, and destroys mortality.
The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen as felt. It is the "still, small voice" of Truth uttering itself. We are either turning away from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going up higher.
A natureza superior do homem não é governada pela inferior; se assim fosse, a ordem da sabedoria seria invertida. Nossas visões distorcidas da vida ocultam a harmonia eterna e produzem os males dos quais nos queixamos. O fato dos mortais acreditarem em leis materiais e rejeitarem a Ciência da Mente não significa que a materialidade seja primordial e que a lei superior da Alma esteja por último. Você jamais pensaria que a flanela seria melhor para espanar doenças pulmonares do que a Mente governadora, se compreendesse a Ciência do Ser.
Na Ciência, o homem é fruto do Espírito. O belo, o bom e o puro constituem sua ancestralidade. Sua origem não se encontra, como a dos mortais, no instinto bruto, nem passa por condições materiais antes de alcançar a Inteligência. O Espírito é sua fonte primitiva e última de ser; Deus é seu Pai, e a Vida é a lei do seu ser.
The higher nature of man is not governed by the lower; if it were, the order of wisdom would be reversed. Our false views of life hide eternal harmony, and produce the ills of which we complain. Because mortals believe in material laws and reject the Science of Mind, this does not make materiality first and the superior law of Soul last. You would never think that flannel was better for warding off pulmonary disease than the controlling Mind, if you understood the Science of being.
In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry. His origin is not, like that of mortals, in brute instinct, nor does he pass through material conditions prior to reaching intelligence. Spirit is his primitive and ultimate source of being; God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being.
A ideia de que a natureza animal possa conferir força ao caráter é absurda demais para ser considerada, quando lembramos que, por meio da ascensão espiritual, nosso Senhor e Mestre curou os enfermos, ressuscitou os mortos e ordenou até que os ventos e as ondas lhe obedecessem. A Graça e a Verdade são mais poderosas do que qualquer outro meio ou método.
A falta de poder espiritual na limitada demonstração do cristianismo popular não silencia o trabalho dos séculos. É necessária uma consciência espiritual, e não corporal. O homem liberto do pecado, da doença e da morte apresenta a verdadeira semelhança ou o ideal espiritual.
The notion that animal natures can possibly give force to character is too absurd for consideration, when we remember that through spiritual ascendency our Lord and Master healed the sick, raised the dead, and commanded even the winds and waves to obey him. Grace and Truth are potent beyond all other means and methods.
The lack of spiritual power in the limited demonstration of popular Christianity does not put to silence the labor of centuries. Spiritual, not corporeal, consciousness is needed. Man delivered from sin, disease, and death presents the true likeness or spiritual ideal.
Você "Ama o Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma e de todo o teu entendimento"? Este mandamento abrange muito, inclusive a renúncia a todas as sensações, afeições e adoração meramente materiais. Este é o Eldorado do Cristianismo. Envolve a Ciência da Vida e reconhece apenas o controle divino do Espírito, no qual a Alma é nossa mestra.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master,
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja orar todos os dias: "Venha o Teu reino"; que o reinado da Verdade, da Vida e do Amor divinos se estabeleça em mim e expulse de mim todo pecado; e que a Tua Palavra enriqueça os afetos de toda a humanidade e os governe! — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 4
Nem a animosidade nem o mero apego pessoal devem impelir os motivos ou atos dos membros da Igreja Mãe. Na Ciência, somente o Amor divino governa o homem; e um Cientista Cristão reflete as doces comodidades do Amor, repreendendo o pecado, na verdadeira fraternidade, caridade e perdão. Os membros desta Igreja devem vigiar e orar diariamente para serem libertos de todo mal, de profetizar, julgar, condenar, aconselhar, influenciar ou serem influenciados erroneamente. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 1
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja defender-se diariamente contra a sugestão mental agressiva, e não ser levado a esquecer ou negligenciar seu dever para com Deus, seu líder e a humanidade. Por suas obras, ele será julgado — e justificado ou condenado. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 6.
