Se flechas forem disparadas contra um raio do sol, jamais o ferirão. Se um ferreiro tentasse ferir um raio de sol com sua marreta, descobriria que é impossível. Assim é com o homem reto, que expressa Deus. As flechas da malícia, da inveja, da crítica e do ódio não lhe fazem mal algum, pois é impossível que encontrem onde alojarem-se. Flechas não penetram nos raios do sol. Pensamentos malignos não podem se alojar em uma consciência repleta de bondade. O homem justo vive em um reino onde as flechas do erro não podem penetrar. O mal atira contra os seus, e não consegue enxergar os de Deus.

Enquanto permanecemos na zona de segurança em uma rua movimentada de uma grande cidade, estaremos seguros, embora milhares de veículos passem em alta velocidade. A lei declarou que o tráfego não deve invadir a zona de segurança. Deus providenciou um lugar seguro para Seus filhos. Davi o chamou de “o esconderijo do Altíssimo” (Salmo 91:1). Este refúgio seguro está muito perto, mesmo na mudança de nossos pensamentos. Enquanto alimentarmos os pensamentos da mente maligna, estaremos em constante perigo. Quando nos alimentarmos dos pensamentos de Deus, estaremos sempre seguros.

Man Always Protected – 16º segmento

If arrows are shot at a sunbeam, they never harm the sunbeam. If a blacksmith were to try to injure a sunbeam with his sledge-hammer he would find it impossible to do so. Thus it is with a right-minded, God-expressing man. The shafts of malice, envy, criticism, and hate do him no harm for it is impossible for them to find lodgment. Arrows do not stick in sunbeams. Evil thoughts cannot lodge in a consciousness filled with good. The righteous man lives in a realm into which error’s shafts cannot enter. Evil shoots at its own, it cannot see God’s own.

As we stand in the safety zone on a busy street of a large city we are safe though thousands of vehicles go rushing by. Law has declared that traffic shall not trespass on the zone of safety. God has provided a place of safety for His children. David called it “the secret place of the most High.” (Ps. 91, 1). This safe refuge is very near, even at the turn in our thinking. While we entertain the thoughts of the evil mind we are in constant danger. When we entertain the thoughts of God we are always safe.
