A deformidade não é real

Mary Baker Eddy escreveu: “Como Deus é bom e a fonte de todo o ser, Ele não produz deformidade moral ou física; portanto, tal deformidade não é real, mas sim ilusão, a miragem do erro. ” (S&H)

Tenho refletido e orado sobre o chamado problema de peso nos Estados Unidos — que, na verdade, é uma deformidade. Parece que quanto mais as pessoas fazem dieta e exercícios, mais gordas ficam — tornando-se vítimas involuntárias de crenças limitantes sobre saúde.

Embora seja certamente sábio cuidar bem de si mesmo, ficar obcecado com a nossa aparência, com o que comemos, etc., negligenciando a nossa natureza espiritual, é ter outro deus além do único Deus.

Na página 62 de Ciência e Saúde, a Sra. Eddy afirma: “ Não devemos atribuir cada vez mais inteligência à matéria, mas sim cada vez menos, se quisermos ser sábios e saudáveis. A Mente divina, que forma o botão e a flor, cuidará do corpo humano, assim como veste o lírio; mas que nenhum mortal interfira no governo de Deus impondo as leis de conceitos humanos errôneos.”

Deformity Is Not Real

Mary Baker Eddy has written, “Inasmuch as God is good and the fount of all being, He does not produce moral or physical deformity; therefore such deformity is not real, but is illusion, the mirage of error.” (S&H)

I have been thinking and praying about the so-called weight problem in America — which is a deformity. It would seem the more people diet and exercise, the bigger they become — as they become the unwitting victims of mortal health beliefs.

While it is certainly wise to take proper care of oneself, to become obsessed with how we look, what we eat, etc., while neglecting our spiritual nature, is having another god before the one God.

Mrs. Eddy says on page 62 in Science and Health, “We must not attribute more and more intelligence to matter, but less and less, if we would be wise and healthy. The divine Mind, which forms the bud and blossom, will care for the human body, even as it clothes the lily; but let no mortal interfere with God’s government by thrusting in the laws of erring, human concepts.”
