O ministério de Cristo consistia em reformar o pecador e curar o enfermo. Se ele apenas reformasse o pecador, não poderia dizer: “Tu já estás são”; poderia dizer apenas: “Estás parcialmente restaurado”. Mas ele fez ambas as coisas, e sua ordem é enfática no sentido de que façamos o mesmo: “As obras que Eu faço, também vós as fareis” e “Se crerdes em mim, estes sinais seguirão aos que crerem”.

“Abençoados são os puros de coração, porque eles verão a Deus.” ou, como diz no original, “verão O Bem”.

Antes que a paz e a boa vontade cheguem aos filhos dos homens, deve haver uma mudança na crença quanto aos prazeres dos sentidos; precisamos compreender que os únicos prazeres reais são aqueles que chegam pelas avenidas da Alma.

Na medida exata em que a Ciência ocupa o lugar da superstição e a Sabedoria governa ao invez da ignorância, a Ciência da Vida, tal como ensinada por Cristo, substitui os medicamentos na cura dos enfermos.

Nunca desanime. Seja sempre corajoso. Compreenda o poder do Espírito, que coloca todas as coisas em suas mãos, de modo que os obstáculos no caminho do seu progresso, as tentações que agora o dominam, as tristezas que agora o oprimem e os medos — que não passam de sombras dos seus sonhos — se tornarão exercícios para a sua força; e você descobrirá que jamais será preciso fracassar na conquista da vitória.

“Vinde a mim.” Jesus não se referia ao “eu” como personalidade, mas ao “Eu” como a personificação do Princípio, o reflexo de Deus, ou do Bem. “Todos vós que estais cansados e sobrecarregados”; todos — até mesmo o menor destes meus irmãos, o mais humilde nas profundezas da crença nos prazeres sensoriais e na dor física; os cansados e os sobrecarregados que se perguntam: “Vale a pena viver?”; aqueles que ainda não aprenderam a lição de que nenhum amor é genuíno, exceto aquele baseado na espiritualidade, e que não há descanso ou paz possíveis, a não ser aqueles que nos chegam pelas avenidas da Alma.

Thou Art Made Whole

The ministry of Christ was to reform the sinner and heal the sick. If he only reformed the sinner, he could not say — “Thou art made whole;” He could only say, Thou art made half. But he did both and his command is most emphatic that we do likewise, “The things that I do ye also shall do,” and, “If ye believe on me, these signs shall follow.”

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Shall see God, or as the original reads, shall see good.

Before peace and good-will shall come to the sons of men, there must be a change of belief in the pleasures of the senses, and we must understand that the only real pleasures are those that come through the avenues of Soul.

Just in proportion as science takes the place of superstition, and wisdom rules in the place of ignorance, is the science of Life as taught by Christ substituted in place of drugs, to heal the sick.

Never despair. Be always brave. Understand the power of Spirit which gives all things into your hands, so that obstacles in the path of your progress, temptations which now overcome you, sorrows which now oppress you, fears which are only shadows of your dreams, will become as exercise for your strength, and you will find there need never be a failure in attaining victory.

“Come unto me.” Jesus did not mean I the personality, but I the embodiment of Principle, the reflection of God, or Goodness. “All ye that are weary and heavy laden;” all, even the least of these my brethren, the lowest in the deeps of belief in sensuous pleasures and physical pain, the weary and heavy laden who ask themselves, Is life worth living ? who have not yet learned the lesson that no love is genuine but that which is based on spirituality, and that no rest or peace is to be had, but that which comes to us through the avenues of the soul. —
