“O Senhor teu Deus te suscitará um profeta, semelhante a mim, no meio de ti, e dentre teus irmãos, semelhante a mim; e a ele ouvireis.”

2. O povo que andava em trevas viu uma grande luz; aos que habitavam na região da sombra da morte, a luz resplandeceu.
6. Porque um menino nos nasceu, um filho se nos deu; e o governo está sobre os seus ombros.
7. Da expansão do seu governo e da paz não haverá fim, sobre o trono de Davi e sobre o seu reino, para o estabelecer e o firmar, com retidão e justiça, desde agora e para sempre. O zelo do Senhor dos Exércitos fará isto.

15 Oh! Que os homens louvem ao SENHOR por sua bondade e por suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens!
20 Ele enviou a sua palavra, curou-os e livrou-os da destruição.

16 Porque Deus amou o mundo de tal maneira que deu o seu Filho unigênito, para que todo aquele que nele crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.
17 Pois Deus enviou o seu Filho ao mundo, não para condenar o mundo, mas para que o mundo fosse salvo por meio dele.

1 Naqueles dias, César Augusto promulgou um decreto ordenando o recenseamento de todo o mundo romano.
3 E todos seguiam para as cidades onde haviam nascido, a fim de serem recenseados.
4 José também saiu da Galileia, da cidade de Nazaré, e foi para a Judeia, à cidade de Davi, chamada Belém (porque ele era da casa e linhagem de Davi).
5 Para ser tributado juntamente com Maria, sua esposa, que estava grávida.

5 E, entrando Jesus em Cafarnaum, aproximou-se dele um centurião, suplicando-lhe:
6 E dizendo: Senhor, o meu servo jaz em casa paralítico, sofrendo terrivelmente.
7 E Jesus lhe disse: Eu irei e o curarei.
8 O centurião respondeu: Senhor, não sou digno de que entres em minha casa; mas dize apenas uma palavra, e o meu servo será curado.
13 E Jesus disse ao centurião: Vai, e seja feito contigo conforme a tua fé. E naquele mesmo instante o seu servo foi curado.

26 Mas, quando porém vier o Consolador, que Eu vos enviarei da parte do Pai, o Espírito da Verdade que procede do Pai, Ele dará testemunho de mim.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
13 Mas, quando vier o Espírito da Verdade, ELE os guiará em toda a Verdade.

2 A graça e a paz sejam convosco da parte de Deus nosso Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
13 Nele também vós, depois que ouvistes a palavra da Verdade, o evangelho da vossa salvação; tendo nele também crido, fostes selados com o Espírito Santo da promessa.

Quando uma nova ideia espiritual surge na Terra, a profecia de Isaías se cumpre novamente: "Um menino nos nasceu, ... e o seu nome será Maravilhoso."
Jesus disse certa vez sobre seus ensinamentos: "O meu ensino não é meu, mas daquele que me enviou. Se alguém quiser fazer a vontade dele, conhecerá a respeito do ensino, se ele vem de Deus ou se eu falo por mim mesmo." (João 7:16,17)
When a new spiritual idea is borne to earth, the prophetic Scripture of Isaiah is renewedly fulfilled: "Unto us a child is born, ... and his name shall be called Wonderful."
Jesus once said of his lessons: "My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me. If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." (John vii. 16,17.)
No ano de 1866, descobri a Ciência Crística, ou as leis divinas da Vida, da Verdade e do Amor, e dei à minha descoberta o nome de Ciência Cristã. Deus, em sua graça, vinha me preparando durante muitos anos para receber esta revelação final do Princípio divino absoluto da cura mental científica.
Este Princípio apodítico (irrefutável) aponta para a revelação de Emanuel, "Deus conosco" — a soberana Presença constante, livrando os filhos dos homens de todo mal "a que a carne herda". Através da Ciência Cristã, a religião e a medicina são inspiradas por uma natureza e essência mais divinas; novas perspectivas são dadas à fé e ao entendimento, e os pensamentos se familiarizam inteligentemente com Deus.
In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science. God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing.
This apodictical Principle points to the revelation of Immanuel, "God with us," — the sovereign ever-presence, delivering the children of men from every ill "that flesh is heir to." Through Christian Science, religion and medicine are inspired with a diviner nature and essence; fresh pinions are given to faith and understanding, and thoughts acquaint themselves intelligently with God.
Durante três anos após minha descoberta, busquei a solução para o problema da cura mental, estudei as Escrituras e mais um pouco, mantive-me afastada da sociedade e dediquei tempo e energia à descoberta de uma regra positiva. A busca foi doce, calma e repleta de esperança, não egoísta nem deprimente.
Eu sabia que o Princípio de toda ação mental harmoniosa era Deus, e que as curas eram produzidas na prática cristã primitiva pela fé santa e edificante; mas eu precisava conhecer a Ciência dessa cura, e cheguei a conclusões absolutas por meio da revelação divina, da razão e da demonstração. A revelação da Verdade no entendimento veio a mim gradual e claramente por meio do poder divino.
For three years after my discovery, I sought the solution of this problem of Mind-healing, searched the Scriptures and read little else, kept aloof from society, and devoted time and energies to discovering a positive rule. The search was sweet, calm, and buoyant with hope, not selfish nor depressing. I knew the Principle of all harmonious Mind-action to be God, and that cures were produced in primitive Christian healing by holy, uplifting faith; but I must know the Science of this healing, and I won my way to absolute conclusions through divine revelation, reason, and demonstration. The revelation of Truth in the understanding came to me gradually and apparently through divine power.
Seguindo essas orientações da revelação científica, a Bíblia foi meu único livro didático. As Escrituras foram iluminadas; a razão e a revelação foram reconciliadas e, posteriormente, a verdade da Ciência Cristã foi demonstrada. In following these leadings of scientific revelation, the Bible was my only textbook. The Scriptures were illumined; reason and revelation were reconciled, and afterwards the truth of Christian Science was demonstrated. No human pen nor tongue taught me the Science contained in this book, Science and Health; and neither tongue nor pen can overthrow it. This book may be distorted by shallow criticism or by careless or malicious students, and its ideas may be temporarily abused and misrepresented; but the Science and truth therein will forever remain to be discerned and demonstrated.
Desde que a autora descobriu o poder da Verdade no tratamento tanto da doença quanto do pecado, seu sistema foi plenamente testado e não apresentou falhas; mas para alcançar as alturas da Ciência Cristã, o homem deve viver em obediência ao seu Princípio divino. Para desenvolver todo o poder desta Ciência, as dissonâncias dos sentidos corporais devem ceder à harmonia dos sentidos espirituais, assim como a ciência da música corrige os tons falsos e confere doce concórdia ao som.
Since the author's discovery of the might of Truth in the treatment of disease as well as of sin, her system has been fully tested and has not been found wanting; but to reach the heights of Christian Science, man must live in obedience to its divine Principle. To develop the full might of this Science, the discords of corporeal sense must yield to the harmony of spiritual sense, even as the science of music corrects false tones and gives sweet concord to sound.
Após a descoberta sagrada da autora, ela atribuiu o nome "Ciência" ao Cristianismo, o nome "erro" aos sentidos corporais e o nome "Substância" à Mente. A Ciência convocou o mundo para a batalha sobre essa questão e sua demonstração, que cura os enfermos, destrói o erro e revela a harmonia universal. After the author's sacred discovery, she affixed the name "Science" to Christianity, the name "error" to corporeal sense, and the name "substance" to Mind. Science has called the world to battle over this issue and its demonstration, which heals the sick, destroys error, and reveals the universal harmony. To those natural Christian Scientists, the ancient worthies, and to Christ Jesus, God certainly revealed the spirit of Christian Science, if not the absolute letter.
O termo CIÊNCIA CRISTÃ foi introduzido pela autora para designar o sistema científico de cura divina.
A revelação consiste em duas partes:
1. A descoberta desta ciência divina da cura da mente, através de uma compreensão espiritual das Escrituras e dos ensinamentos do Consolador, conforme prometido pelo Mestre.
2. A prova, por meio da presente demonstração, de que os chamados milagres de Jesus não pertenciam especificamente a uma dispensação já encerrada, mas ilustravam um Princípio divino sempre operante. A operação desse Princípio indica a eternidade da ordem científica e a continuidade do ser.
The term Christian Science was introduced by the author to designate the scientific system of divine healing.
The revelation consists of two parts:
1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind-healing, through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and through the teachings of the Comforter, as promised by the Master.
2. The proof, by present demonstration, that the so-called miracles of Jesus did not specially belong to a dispensation now ended, but that they illustrated an ever-operative divine Principle. The operation of this Principle indicates the eternality of the scientific order and continuity of being.
Jesus demonstrou o poder da Ciência Cristã para curar mentes e corpos mortais. Mas esse poder foi esquecido e precisa ser discernido, ensinado e demonstrado espiritualmente novamente, de acordo com o mandamento de Cristo, com "sinais que o acompanham". Sua Ciência precisa ser compreendida por todos os que creem em Cristo e entendem espiritualmente a Verdade.
Jesus demonstrated the power of Christian Science to heal mortal minds and bodies. But this power was lost sight of, and must again be spiritually discerned, taught, and demonstrated according to Christ's command, with "signs following." Its Science must be apprehended by as many as believe on Christ and spiritually understand Truth.
Deus escolhe para o serviço mais elevado aquele que se tornou tão apto para ele que torna impossível qualquer abuso da missão. O Onisciente não confia Suas mais altas responsabilidades aos indignos. Quando Ele comissiona um mensageiro, escolhe alguém que esteja espiritualmente próximo a Ele. Ninguém pode usar indevidamente esse poder mental, se for ensinado por Deus a discerni-lo.
God selects for the highest service one who has grown into such a fitness for it as renders any abuse of the mission an impossibility. The All-wise does not bestow His highest trusts upon the unworthy. When He commissions a messenger, it is one who is spiritually near Himself. No person can misuse this mental power, if he is taught of God to discern it.
Quem abre caminho na Ciência Cristã é um peregrino e um estrangeiro, traçando a senda para as gerações ainda por nascer.
Whoever opens the way in Christian Science is a pilgrim and stranger, marking out the path for generations yet unborn.
Minha esperança, ainda que cansada, anseia por concretizar aquele dia feliz, quando o homem reconhecerá a Ciência de Cristo e amará o seu próximo como a si mesmo — quando perceberá a onipotência de Deus e o poder curativo do Amor divino em tudo o que fez e continua a fazer pela humanidade. As promessas se cumprirão. O tempo para o reaparecimento da cura divina é eterno; e todo aquele que deposita tudo o que possui na Terra sobre o altar da Ciência divina, bebe agora do cálice de Cristo e é revestido do espírito e do poder da cura cristã.
Nas palavras de São João: "Ele vos dará outro Consolador, para que fique convosco para sempre." Entendo que este Consolador seja a Ciência Divina.
My weary hope tries to realize that happy day, when man shall recognize the Science of Christ and love his neighbor as himself, — when he shall realize God's omnipotence and the healing power of the divine Love in what it has done and is doing for mankind. The promises will be fulfilled. The time for the reappearing of the divine healing is throughout all time; and whosoever layeth his earthly all on the altar of divine Science, drinketh of Christ's cup now, and is endued with the spirit and power of Christian healing.
In the words of St. John: "He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever." This Comforter I understand to be Divine Science.
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja orar todos os dias: "Venha o Teu reino"; que o reinado da Verdade, da Vida e do Amor divinos se estabeleça em mim e expulse de mim todo pecado; e que a Tua Palavra enriqueça os afetos de toda a humanidade e os governe! — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 4
Nem a animosidade nem o mero apego pessoal devem impelir os motivos ou atos dos membros da Igreja Mãe. Na Ciência, somente o Amor divino governa o homem; e um Cientista Cristão reflete as doces comodidades do Amor, repreendendo o pecado, na verdadeira fraternidade, caridade e perdão. Os membros desta Igreja devem vigiar e orar diariamente para serem libertos de todo mal, de profetizar, julgar, condenar, aconselhar, influenciar ou serem influenciados erroneamente. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 1
