1. Ó SENHOR, nosso Senhor, quão excelente é o teu nome em toda a terra! Tu, que puseste a tua glória acima dos céus.
3. Quando considero os teus céus, a obra dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrelas que estabeleceste;
4. Que é o homem, para que te lembres dele? E o filho do homem, para que o visites?
5. Pois tu o fizeste um pouco menor do que os anjos e o coroaste de glória e honra.
6. Tu o fizeste dominar sobre as obras das tuas mãos; e todas as coisas puseste debaixo dos seus pés.
15. Quanto a mim, contemplarei a tua face em justiça; quando Eu acordar, ficarei satisfeito com a tua semelhança.

SERMÃO DA LIÇÃO
15 Vós sois abençoados pelo SENHOR, que fez o céu e a terra.
15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.
1 No princípio, Deus criou os céus e a terra.
2 A terra, porém, era sem forma e vazia; havia trevas sobre a face do abismo, e o Espírito de Deus pairava sobre a face das águas.
26 Então disse Deus: Façamos o homem à nossa imagem, conforme a nossa semelhança; e que ele domine sobre os peixes do mar, e sobre as aves do céu, e sobre o gado, e sobre toda a terra, e sobre todo o réptil que rasteja sobre a terra.
27 Assim, Deus criou o homem à sua imagem, à imagem de Deus o criou; homem e mulher Ele os criou.

3 Porque o Senhor consolará Sião; consolará todos os seus lugares assolados; e fará o seu deserto como o Éden, e a sua solidão como o jardim do Senhor; nela se acharão alegria e regozijo, ações de graças e a voz da melodia.
3 For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
21 Então Jesus saiu dali e foi para os arredores de Tiro e Sidom.
22 E eis que uma mulher cananeia, vinda daquelas regiões, clamou a ele, dizendo: Tem misericórdia de mim, Senhor, Filho de Davi; minha filha está severamente atormentada por um demônio.
23 Mas ele não lhe respondeu uma palavra. E, vindo a ele os seus discípulos, pediram-lhe, dizendo: Manda-a embora, porque está gritando atrás de nós.
24 Mas ele, respondendo, disse: "Não fui enviado senão às ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel."
25 Então ela aproximou-se e o adorou, dizendo: Senhor, ajuda-me.
26 Mas ele respondeu: “Não é certo tirar o pão dos filhos e jogá-lo aos cães.
27 E ela disse: Verdade, Senhor; contudo, até os cães comem das migalhas que caem da mesa dos seus donos.
28 Então Jesus respondeu e disse-lhe: Ó mulher, grande é a tua fé; seja feito contigo como queres. E desde aquela hora a sua filha ficou curada.
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
46 Enquanto ele ainda falava ao povo, eis que sua mãe e seus irmãos estavam do lado de fora, querendo falar com ele.
47 Então alguém lhe disse: Eis que tua mãe e teus irmãos estão lá fora, querendo falar contigo.
48 Mas ele respondeu e disse ao que lhe falara: Quem é minha mãe? E quem são meus irmãos?
49 E, estendendo a mão para os seus discípulos, disse: Eis aqui minha mãe e meus irmãos!
50 Pois todo aquele que fizer a vontade de meu Pai que está nos céus, esse é meu irmão, minha irmã e minha mãe.
46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

2 Como o pássaro ao vaguear, como a andorinha ao voar, assim a maldição sem motivo não virá.
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
22 ... a Escritura concluiu tudo sob o pecado, que a promessa pela fé de Jesus Cristo possa ser dada aos que creem.

22 …the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
6 E, porque sois filhos, Deus enviou o Espírito de seu Filho aos vossos corações, o qual clama: Aba, Pai.

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
HOMEM. A ideia composta do Espírito infinito; a imagem e semelhança espiritual de Deus; a representação plena da Mente.
Man. The compound idea of infinite Spirit; the spiritual image and likeness of God; the full representation of Mind.
Gênesis I. 1. No princípio, Deus criou os céus e a terra.
O princípio criativo – Vida, Verdade e Amor – é Deus. O universo reflete Deus. Há apenas um criador e uma criação. Essa criação consiste no desdobramento de ideias espirituais e suas manifestações, identidades que são acolhidas na Mente infinita e refletidas para sempre. Essas ideias variam do infinitesimal ao infinito, e as ideias mais elevadas são os filhos e filhas de Deus.
Genesis i. 1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The creative Principle — Life, Truth, and Love — is God. The universe reflects God. There is but one creator and one creation. This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected. These ideas range from the infinitesimal to infinity, and the highest ideas are the sons and daughters of God.
A qualidade vital da Mente é o Espírito, não a matéria. O homem ideal corresponde à criação, à inteligência e à Verdade.
A mulher ideal corresponde à Vida e ao Amor. Na Ciência divina, não temos tanta autoridade para considerar Deus masculino quanto temos para considerá-Lo feminino, pois o Amor transmite a ideia mais clara da Divindade.
The life-giving quality of Mind is Spirit, not matter. The ideal man corresponds to creation, to intelligence, and to Truth. The ideal woman corresponds to Life and to Love. In divine Science, we have not as much authority for considering God masculine, as we have for considering Him feminine, for Love imparts the clearest idea of Deity.
Os Cientistas Cristãos entendem que, em um sentido religioso, eles têm a mesma autoridade para o termo "mãe" que têm para "irmão" e "irmã". Jesus disse: "Pois todo aquele que fizer a vontade de meu Pai que está nos céus, esse é meu irmão, minha irmã e minha mãe."
Christian Scientists understand that, in a religious sense, they have the same authority for the appellative mother, as for that of brother and sister. Jesus said: "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."
Gênesis 2:21, 22. Então o Senhor Deus [Jeová, Javé] fez cair um sono profundo sobre Adão, e este adormeceu; e tomou uma das suas costelas, e fechou a carne em seu lugar; e da costela que o Senhor Deus [Jeová] tomou do homem, formou uma mulher, e trouxe-a a Adão.
Aqui, a falsidade, o erro, atribui à Verdade, a Deus, a indução de um sono ou estado hipnótico em Adão para realizar nele uma operação cirúrgica e, assim, criar a mulher. Este é o primeiro registro de magnetismo. Começando a criação com trevas em vez de luz – materialmente em vez de espiritualmente – o erro agora simula a obra da Verdade, zombando do Amor e declarando as grandes coisas que o erro fez. Contemplando as criações de seu próprio sonho e chamando-as de reais e dadas por Deus, Adão – também conhecido como erro – dá-lhes nomes.
Depois, ele supostamente se torna a base da criação da mulher e de sua própria espécie, chamando-os de humanidade – isto é, uma espécie de homem. Mas, segundo essa narrativa, a cirurgia foi inicialmente realizada mentalmente e sem instrumentos; e isso pode ser uma pista útil para a faculdade de medicina. Mais tarde na história da humanidade, quando o fruto proibido começou a gerar frutos semelhantes, surgiu a sugestão de uma mudança no modo de operação: que o homem deveria nascer da mulher, e não a mulher sendo novamente tirada do homem.
Aconteceu também que instrumentos se tornaram necessários para auxiliar o nascimento dos mortais. O primeiro sistema de obstetrícia sugestiva mudou. Outra mudança virá quanto à natureza e origem do homem, e essa revelação destruirá o sonho da existência, restabelecerá a realidade, inaugurará a Ciência e o glorioso fato da criação, de que tanto o homem quanto a mulher procedem de Deus e são Seus filhos eternos, pertencente a um pai não menos importante.
Genesis ii. 21, 22. And the Lord God [Jehovah, Yawah] caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God [Jehovah] had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Here falsity, error, credits Truth, God, with inducing a sleep or hypnotic state in Adam in order to perform a surgical operation on him and thereby create woman. This is the first record of magnetism. Beginning creation with darkness instead of light, — materially rather than spiritually, — error now simulates the work of Truth, mocking Love and declaring what great things error has done. Beholding the creations of his own dream and calling them real and God-given, Adam — alias error — gives them names. Afterwards he is supposed to become the basis of the creation of woman and of his own kind, calling them mankind, — that is, a kind of man.
But according to this narrative, surgery was first performed mentally and without instruments; and this may be a useful hint to the medical faculty. Later in human history, when the forbidden fruit was bringing forth fruit of its own kind, there came a suggestion of change in the modus operandi, — that man should be born of woman, not woman again taken from man. It came about, also, that instruments were needed to assist the birth of mortals. The first system of suggestive obstetrics has changed. Another change will come as to the nature and origin of man, and this revelation will destroy the dream of existence, reinstate reality, usher in Science and the glorious fact of creation, that both man and woman proceed from God and are His eternal children, belonging to no lesser parent.
Todo o conhecimento humano e a percepção material devem ser adquiridos através dos cinco sentidos corporais. Será esse conhecimento seguro, se comer seus primeiros frutos trouxe a morte?
Adão e sua descendência foram amaldiçoados, não abençoados; e isso indica que o Espírito divino, ou Pai, condena o homem material e o reduz a pó.
All human knowledge and material sense must be gained from the five corporeal senses. Is this knowledge safe, when eating its first fruits brought death? … Adam and his progeny were cursed, not blessed; and this indicates that the divine Spirit, or Father, condemns material man and remands him to dust.
Jeová declarou que a terra era amaldiçoada; e dessa terra, ou matéria, surgiu Adão, apesar de Deus ter abençoado a terra "por causa do homem".
Disso se conclui que Adão não era o homem ideal para quem a terra foi abençoada. O homem ideal foi revelado no tempo devido e era conhecido como Cristo Jesus.
Jehovah declared the ground was accursed; and from this ground, or matter, sprang Adam, notwithstanding God had blessed the earth "for man's sake." From this it follows that Adam was not the ideal man for whom the earth was blessed. The ideal man was revealed in due time, and was known as Christ Jesus.
Qualquer pessoa capaz de perceber a incongruência entre a ideia de Deus e a pobre humanidade deveria ser capaz de discernir a distinção (feita pela Ciência Cristã) entre o homem de Deus, feito à Sua imagem, e a raça pecadora de Adão.
Não é propósito da Ciência Cristã "educar a ideia de Deus ou tratá-la de doenças", como alega um crítico. Lamento que tal crítica confunda o homem com Adão. Quando se fala do homem como feito à imagem de Deus, não se refere ao homem mortal pecador e doente, mas ao homem ideal, que reflete a semelhança de Deus.
Anybody, who is able to perceive the incongruity between God's idea and poor humanity, ought to be able to discern the distinction (made by Christian Science) between God's man, made in His image, and the sinning race of Adam.
It is not the purpose of Christian Science to "educate the idea of God, or treat it for disease," as is alleged by one critic. I regret that such criticism confounds man with Adam. When man is spoken of as made in God's image, it is not sinful and sickly mortal man who is referred to, but the ideal man, reflecting God's likeness.
O homem de Deus, criado espiritualmente, não é material nem mortal.
A origem de toda a discórdia humana foi o sonho de Adão, o sono profundo, no qual se originou a ilusão de que a vida e a inteligência procedem da matéria e se transformam nela.
Esse erro panteísta, ou a chamada serpente, ainda insiste no oposto da Verdade, dizendo: "Sereis como deuses"; isto é, farei do erro algo tão real e eterno quanto a Verdade.
God's man, spiritually created, is not material and mortal.
The parent of all human discord was the Adam-dream, the deep sleep, in which originated the delusion that life and intelligence proceeded from and passed into matter. This pantheistic error, or so-called serpent, insists still upon the opposite of Truth, saying, "Ye shall be as gods;" that is, I will make error as real and eternal as Truth.
Como o ideal individual da Verdade, Cristo Jesus veio para repreender o erro rabínico e todo pecado, doença e morte, para apontar o caminho da Verdade e da Vida. Esse ideal foi demonstrado ao longo de toda a trajetória terrena de Jesus, mostrando a diferença entre os frutos da Alma e os frutos dos sentidos materiais, da Verdade e os frutos do erro.
As the individual ideal of Truth, Christ Jesus came to rebuke rabbinical error and all sin, sickness, and death, — to point out the way of Truth and Life. This ideal was demonstrated throughout the whole earthly career of Jesus, showing the difference between the offspring of Soul and of material sense, of Truth and of error.
A concepção que Maria teve dele foi espiritual, pois somente a pureza poderia refletir a Verdade e o Amor, que estavam claramente encarnados no bom e puro Cristo Jesus.
Mary's conception of him was spiritual, for only purity could reflect Truth and Love, which were plainly incarnate in the good and pure Christ Jesus.
Dele, os mortais podem aprender como escapar do mal. Estando o homem real ligado ao seu Criador pela Ciência, basta que os mortais se afastem do pecado e percam de vista a sua individualidade mortal para encontrarem Cristo, o homem real e a sua relação com Deus, e para reconhecerem a filiação divina. Cristo, a Verdade, foi demonstrado através de Jesus para provar o poder do Espírito sobre a carne, para mostrar que a Verdade se manifesta pelos seus efeitos sobre a mente e o corpo humanos, curando doenças e destruindo o pecado.
From him mortals may learn how to escape from evil. The real man being linked by Science to his Maker, mortals need only turn from sin and lose sight of mortal selfhood to find Christ, the real man and his relation to God, and to recognize the divine sonship. Christ, Truth, was demonstrated through Jesus to prove the power of Spirit over the flesh, — to show that Truth is made manifest by its effects upon the human mind and body, healing sickness and destroying sin.
Por meio do discernimento do oposto espiritual da materialidade, ou seja, pelo caminho de Cristo, a Verdade, o homem reabrirá, com a chave da Ciência divina, os portões do Paraíso que as crenças humanas fecharam, e se encontrará íntegro, reto, puro e livre.
Through discernment of the spiritual opposite of materiality, even the way through Christ, Truth, man will reopen with the key of divine Science the gates of Paradise which human beliefs have closed, and will find himself unfallen, upright, pure, and free,
Completamente separada da crença e do sonho da vida material, está a Vida divina, que revela a compreensão espiritual e a consciência do domínio do homem sobre toda a Terra. Essa compreensão expulsa o erro e cura os enfermos, e com ela você pode falar "como alguém que tem autoridade".
Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man's dominion over the whole earth. This understanding casts out error and heals the sick, and with it you can speak "as one having authority."
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja orar todos os dias: "Venha o Teu reino"; que o reinado da Verdade, da Vida e do Amor divinos se estabeleça em mim e expulse de mim todo pecado; e que a Tua Palavra enriqueça os afetos de toda a humanidade e os governe! — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 4
Nem a animosidade nem o mero apego pessoal devem impelir os motivos ou atos dos membros da Igreja Mãe. Na Ciência, somente o Amor divino governa o homem; e um Cientista Cristão reflete as doces comodidades do Amor, repreendendo o pecado, na verdadeira fraternidade, caridade e perdão.
