“Mostra-me os Teus caminhos, ó Senhor; ensina-me as TUAS veredas. Guia-me. me ensina a Tua Verdade, pois Tu És o Deus de minha salvação; em Ti espero o dia todo.”
“Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”

2. E Josué disse a todo o povo: Assim diz o Senhor Deus de Israel:
13. Eu vos dei uma terra que não cultivastes, e cidades que não construístes, e nelas habitais; das vinhas e dos olivais que não plantastes, comeis.
14. Agora, pois, temam o Senhor e sirvam-no com sinceridade e em Verdade.
15. Escolhei hoje a quem haveis de servir: se aos deuses a quem serviram vossos pais, que estavam além do rio, ou aos deuses dos amorreus, em cuja terra habitais; porém eu e a minha casa serviremos ao Senhor .
17. Pois o Senhor nosso Deus foi quem nos tirou, a nós e aos nossos pais, da terra do Egito, da casa da servidão, e que fez aqueles grandes sinais aos nossos olhos, e nos preservou em todo o caminho por onde andávamos, e entre todo o povo por onde passávamos.
24. E o povo disse a Josué: Serviremos ao Senhor nosso Deus e obedeceremos à sua voz.

14. Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth.
15. Choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
17. For the Lord our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed.
24. And the people said unto Joshua, The Lord our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
SERMÃO DA LIÇÃO
1 Julga-me, Senhor , pois tenho andado Íntegro; tenho confiado no Senhor; portanto, não vacilarei.
2 Examina-me, Senhor , e prova-me; sonda meu interior e o meu coração.
3 Pois a tua benignidade está diante dos meus olhos, e eu tenho andado na tua Verdade.
1 Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
1 Naqueles dias, Ezequias adoeceu mortalmente. E o profeta Isaías, filho de Amós, foi a ele e lhe disse: Assim diz o Senhor : Ponha a tua casa em ordem, porque morrerás e não viverás.
2 Então, voltando o rosto para a parede, orou ao Senhor , dizendo:
3 Eu te suplico, ó Senhor , lembra-te agora de como tenho andado diante de ti em Verdade e com um coração perfeito, e tenho feito o que é bom aos teus olhos. E Ezequias chorou amargamente.
4 E aconteceu que, antes que Isaías tivesse saído para o pátio central, veio a palavra do Senhor a ele, dizendo :
5 Volta e diga a Ezequias, o capitão do meu povo: Assim diz o Senhor , o Deus de Davi, teu pai: Ouvi a tua oração e vi as tuas lágrimas; eis que te curarei; ao terceiro dia subirás à casa do Senhor .
6 Acrescentarei quinze anos aos teus dias; livrar-te-ei, a ti e a esta cidade, das mãos do rei da Assíria; e defenderei esta cidade por amor a mim mesmo e por amor do meu servo Davi.
1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,
3 I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord.
6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
1 Eu amo o Senhor , porque ele ouviu a minha voz e as minhas súplicas.
6 O Senhor protege os simples: eu estava abatido, e ele me ajudou.
7 Retorna ao teu repouso, ó minha alma; pois o Senhor te fez bem.
8 Pois tu livraste a minha alma da morte, os meus olhos das lágrimas e os meus pés de tropeçarem.
9 Andarei na presença do Senhor na terra dos viventes.
1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
9 I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
1 Louvai ao Senhor , todas as nações; louvai-o, todos os povos.
2 Pois a sua misericórdia para conosco é grande, e a Verdade do Senhor perdura para sempre. Louvai ao Senhor .
1 O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.
46 Então Jesus voltou a Caná da Galileia, onde transformou a água em vinho. E havia ali um certo nobre, cujo filho estava doente em Cafarnaum.
47 Quando ouviu que Jesus tinha vindo da Judeia para a Galileia, dirigiu-se a ele e suplicou-lhe que descesse e curasse seu filho, porque este estava à beira da morte.
48 Então Jesus lhe disse: A menos que vejais sinais e maravilhas, não crereis.
49 Disse-lhe então o nobre: Senhor, desça antes que meu filho morra.
50 Disse-lhe Jesus: Vai, teu filho vive. E o homem creu na palavra que Jesus lhe dissera, e foi.
51 E, quando ele descia, seus servos vieram ao seu encontro e lhe disseram : Teu filho vive.
52 Então perguntou-lhes a que horas começara a melhorar. E eles disseram-lhe: Ontem, à sétima hora, a febre o deixou.
53 Assim, o pai percebeu que era a mesma hora em que Jesus lhe dissera: "Teu Filho vive"; e creu ele e toda a sua casa.
46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judæa into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

2 E, de manhã cedo, voltou ao templo, e todo o povo veio ter com ele; e, assentando-se, os ensinava.
28 Então Jesus lhes disse: Quando levantardes o Filho do Homem, então sabereis que eu sou ele , e que nada faço por mim mesmo; mas falo estas coisas como o Pai me ensinou.
29 Aquele que me enviou está comigo; o Pai não me deixou sozinho, porque eu sempre faço o que lhe agrada.
30 Ao dizer isso, muitos creram nele.
31 Então Jesus disse aos judeus que haviam crido nele: Se vocês permanecerem na minha palavra, verdadeiramente serão meus discípulos;
32 E conhecereis a Verdade, e a Verdade vos libertará.

2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
1 Rogo-vos, pois, irmãos, pela misericórdia de Deus, que apresenteis os vossos corpos em sacrifício vivo, santo e agradável a Deus, que é o vosso culto racional.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
17 … não vivam como os gentios, na vaidade de seus pensamentos,
22 … abandona o antigo modo de viver do velho homem, que se corrompe segundo as paixões enganosas;
23 E sejam renovados no espírito da sua mente;
24 E que vos revistais do novo homem, que segundo Deus é criado em verdadeira justiça e santidade.
25 Portanto, deixando a mentira, fale cada um a Verdade com o seu próximo, pois somos membros uns dos outros.
26 Irai-vos, e não pequeis; não se ponha o sol sobre a vossa ira.
27 Não deem lugar ao diabo.
29 Não saia da boca de vocês nenhuma palavra torpe, mas apenas a que for boa para promover a edificação, conforme a necessidade, para que transmita graça aos que a ouvem.
31 Livrem-se de toda amargura, indignação, ira, gritaria e calúnia, bem como de toda maldade.
32 Sejam bondosos e compassivos uns para com os outros, perdoando-se mutuamente, assim como Deus os perdoou em Cristo.
17 … walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
22 … put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
A confiança inspirada pela Ciência reside no fato de que a Verdade é real e o erro é irreal. O erro é um covarde diante da Verdade.
The confidence inspired by Science lies in the fact that Truth is real and error is unreal. Error is a coward before Truth.
A medicina de um Cientista Cristão é a Mente, a Verdade divina que liberta o homem.
A Christian Scientist's medicine is Mind, the divine Truth that makes man free.
A Verdade traz os elementos da liberdade. Em seu estandarte está o lema inspirado pela Alma: "A escravidão está abolida". O poder de Deus liberta o cativo. Nenhum poder pode resistir ao amor divino. Que poder tem esse suposto poder que se opõe a Deus? De onde ele vem? O que prende o homem com grilhões de ferro ao pecado, à doença e à morte? Tudo o que escraviza o homem se opõe ao governo divino. A Verdade liberta o homem.
Você pode reconhecer a Verdade pela raridade e fidelidade de seus seguidores. Assim, a marcha do tempo carrega adiante o estandarte da liberdade. Os poderes deste mundo lutarão e ordenarão a seus sentinelas que não deixem a Verdade passar até que ela se submeta aos seus sistemas; mas a Ciência, Ignorando a baioneta pontiaguda, segue em frente. Sempre há alguma turbulência, mas sempre há uma união em torno do estandarte da Verdade.
Truth brings the elements of liberty. On its banner is the Soul-inspired motto, "Slavery is abolished." The power of God brings deliverance to the captive. No power can withstand divine Love. What is this supposed power, which opposes itself to God? Whence cometh it? What is it that binds man with iron shackles to sin, sickness, and death? Whatever enslaves man is opposed to the divine government. Truth makes man free.
You may know when first Truth leads by the fewness and faithfulness of its followers. Thus it is that the march of time bears onward freedom's banner. The powers of this world will fight, and will command their sentinels not to let truth pass the guard until it subscribes to their systems; but Science, heeding not the pointed bayonet, marches on. There is always some tumult, but there is a rallying to truth's standard.
Paulo tinha uma clara noção das exigências da Verdade sobre os mortais, tanto física quanto espiritualmente, quando disse: "Apresentai vossos corpos em sacrifício vivo, santo, agradável a Deus, que é o vosso culto racional".
Mas aquele que nasceu das crenças da carne e as serve, jamais poderá alcançar neste mundo a divindade de nosso Senhor. Chegará o tempo em que a origem espiritual do homem, a Ciência divina que trouxe Jesus à presença humana, será compreendida e demonstrada.
Quando proferida pela primeira vez em qualquer época, a Verdade, como a luz, "brilha nas trevas, e as trevas não a compreendem". Um falso senso de vida, substância e mente esconde as possibilidades divinas e oculta a demonstração científica.
Se desejamos seguir a Cristo, a Verdade, devemos fazê-lo pelo caminho designado por Deus. Jesus disse: "Aquele que crê em mim fará também as obras que Eu faço". Aquele que deseja alcançar a fonte e encontrar a solução divina para todos os males não deve tentar escalar a montanha da Ciência por outro caminho. Toda a natureza ensina o amor de Deus ao homem, mas o homem não pode amar a Deus supremamente e colocar todas as suas afeições nas coisas espirituais, amando o material ou confiando nela mais do que no espiritual..
Paul had a clear sense of the demands of Truth upon mortals physically and spiritually, when he said: "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." But he, who is begotten of the beliefs of the flesh and serves them, can never reach in this world the divine heights of our Lord. The time cometh when the spiritual origin of man, the divine Science which ushered Jesus into human presence, will be understood and demonstrated.
When first spoken in any age, Truth, like the light, "shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not." A false sense of life, substance, and mind hides the divine possibilities, and conceals scientific demonstration.
If we wish to follow Christ, Truth, it must be in the way of God's appointing. Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." He, who would reach the source and find the divine remedy for every ill, must not try to climb the hill of Science by some other road. All nature teaches God's love to man, but man cannot love God supremely and set his whole affections on spiritual things, while loving the material or trusting in it more than in the spiritual.
A pergunta "O que é a Verdade?" é respondida pela demonstração — pela cura tanto da doença quanto do pecado; e essa demonstração mostra que a cura cristã proporciona mais saúde e forma melhores homens.
The question, What is Truth, is answered by demonstration, — by healing both disease and sin; and this demonstration shows that Christian healing confers the most health and makes the best men.
O propósito e a motivação para viver corretamente podem ser alcançados agora. Com esse ponto conquistado, você começou como deveria. Você começou na tabela numérica da Ciência Cristã, e nada além de intenções errôneas pode impedir seu progresso. Trabalhando e orando com motivos verdadeiros, seu Pai abrirá o caminho. "Quem vos impediu de obedecer à Verdade?"
The purpose and motive to live aright can be gained now. This point won, you have started as you should. You have begun at the numeration-table of Christian Science, and nothing but wrong intention can hinder your advancement. Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way. "Who did hinder you, that ye should not obey the truth?"
Aos sentidos físicos, as exigências rigorosas da Ciência Cristã parecem autoritárias; mas os mortais estão se apressando em aprender que a Vida é Deus, o bem, e que o mal, na realidade, não tem lugar nem poder na economia humana ou divina.
To the physical senses, the strict demands of Christian Science seem peremptory; but mortals are hastening to learn that Life is God, good, and that evil has in reality neither place nor power in the human or the divine economy.
Ao tentar desfazer os erros dos sentidos, é preciso pagar integralmente e com justiça o preço máximo, até que todo erro seja finalmente submetido à Verdade. O método divino de pagar o preço do pecado envolve desatar os próprios nós e aprender com a experiência a distinguir entre os sentidos e a Alma.
In trying to undo the errors of sense one must pay fully and fairly the utmost farthing, until all error is finally brought into subjection to Truth. The divine method of paying sin's wages involves unwinding one's snarls, and learning from experience how to divide between sense and Soul.
Admitir que a doença é uma condição sobre a qual Deus não tem controle é pressupor que o poder onipotente é impotente em algumas ocasiões. A lei de Cristo, ou Verdade, torna todas as coisas possíveis ao Espírito;
To admit that sickness is a condition over which God has no control, is to presuppose that omnipotent power is powerless on some occasions. The law of Christ, or Truth, makes all things possible to Spirit;
A Verdade deve, e de fato expulsa, o erro de toda a individualidade. A Verdade é uma espada de dois gumes, protetora e guiadora. A Verdade coloca a sabedoria angelical no portal da compreensão para observar os visitantes apropriados. Truth should, and does, drive error out of all selfhood. Truth is a two-edged sword, guarding and guiding. Truth places the cherub wisdom at the gate of understanding to note the proper guests. Radiant with mercy and justice, the sword of Truth gleams afar and indicates the infinite distance between Truth and error, between the material and spiritual, — the unreal and the real.
A Mente divina exige justamente toda a obediência, afeição e força do homem. Nenhuma reserva é feita para qualquer lealdade menor. A obediência à verdade dá poder e força ao homem. A submissão ao erro superinduz a perda de potência.
A verdade expulsa todos os males e métodos materialistas com a lei espiritual real — - a lei que dá visão aos cegos, audição aos surdos, voz aos mudos, pés aos coxos. Se a Ciência Cristã desonra a crença humana, ela honra o entendimento espiritual; e a única Mente tem direito à honra.
Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty. Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength. Submission to error superinduces loss of power.
Truth casts out all evils and materialistic methods with the actual spiritual law, — the law which gives sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, voice to the dumb, feet to the lame. If Christian
Science dishonors human belief, it honors spiritual understanding; and the one Mind only is entitled to honor.
Quando a ilusão da doença ou do pecado o tentar, apegue-se firmemente a Deus e à Sua imagem. Não permita que nada além da Sua semelhança permaneça em seus pensamentos.
When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea. Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought.
Apegue-se à Verdade do ser, em contraposição ao erro de que a Vida, a Substância ou a Inteligência podem estar na matéria. Pleiteie com uma convicção honesta da Verdade e uma percepção clara do efeito imutável, infalível e certo da ciência divina. Então, se a sua fidelidade for metade igual à Verdade em sua súplica, você curará os enfermos.
A Verdade é afirmativa e confere harmonia. Toda a lógica metafísica é inspirada por esta simples regra da Verdade, que governa toda a realidade. Pelos argumentos verídicos que você emprega, e especialmente pelo espírito de Verdade e Amor que você cultiva, você curará os enfermos.
Expulsem toda forma de mal. "Preguem o evangelho a toda criatura." Falem a Verdade a toda forma de erro. Tumores, úlceras, protuberâncias, inflamações, dores, articulações deformadas são sombras de sonhos despertos, imagens obscuras do pensamento mortal, que fogem diante da luz da Verdade.
Stick to the truth of being in contradistinction to the error that life, substance, or intelligence can be in matter. Plead with an honest conviction of truth and a clear perception of the unchanging, unerring, and certain effect of divine Science. Then, if your fidelity is half equal to the truth of your plea, you will heal the sick.
Truth is affirmative, and confers harmony. All metaphysical logic is inspired by this simple rule of Truth, which governs all reality. By the truthful arguments you employ, and especially by the spirit of Truth and Love which you entertain, you will heal the sick.
Cast out all manner of evil. "Preach the gospel to every creature." Speak the truth to every form of error. Tumors, ulcers, tubercles, inflammation, pain, deformed joints, are waking dream-shadows, dark images of mortal thought, which flee before the light of Truth.
Se a Verdade estiver triunfando sobre o erro em sua caminhada e conversa diárias, você finalmente poderá dizer: "Combati o bom combate... Guardei a fé", porque você é um homem melhor.
Se o discípulo está progredindo espiritualmente, ele está se esforçando para entrar. Ele se afasta constantemente dos sentidos materiais e volta seu olhar para as coisas imperecíveis do Espírito. Se for sincero, ele será sério desde o início e progredirá um pouco a cada dia na direção certa, até que finalmente termine sua jornada com alegria.
If Truth is overcoming error in your daily walk and conversation, you can finally say, "I have fought a good fight ... I have kept the faith," because you are a better man.
If the disciple is advancing spiritually, he is striving to enter in. He constantly turns away from material sense, and looks towards the imperishable things of Spirit. If honest, he will be in earnest from the start, and gain a little each day in the right direction, till at last he finishes his course with joy.
A Verdade sempre vence.
Truth is always the victor.
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja orar todos os dias: "Venha o Teu reino"; que o reinado da Verdade, da Vida e do Amor divinos se estabeleça em mim e expulse de mim todo pecado; e que a Tua Palavra enriqueça os afetos de toda a humanidade e os governe! — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 4
Nem a animosidade nem o mero apego pessoal devem impelir os motivos ou atos dos membros da Igreja Mãe. Na Ciência, somente o Amor divino governa o homem; e um Cientista Cristão reflete as doces comodidades do Amor, repreendendo o pecado, na verdadeira fraternidade, caridade e perdão. Os membros desta Igreja devem vigiar e orar diariamente para serem libertos de todo mal, de profetizar, julgar, condenar, aconselhar, influenciar ou serem influenciados erroneamente. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 1
Será dever de cada membro desta Igreja defender-se diariamente contra a sugestão mental agressiva, e não ser levado a esquecer ou negligenciar seu dever para com Deus, seu líder e a humanidade. Por suas obras, ele será julgado — e justificado ou condenado. — Manual da Igreja, Artigo VIII, Seção 6.
